Through her accounts, she sheds light on the dress code and the conduct of male staff, portraying a disconcerting image of the institution’s culture. Mel shares the challenging decision she made to enter foster care temporarily, seeking an escape from the environment. She goes on to describe how attending Public School at Marion Graham Collegiate in Saskatoon, Sk. marked the first instance where she truly felt safe in a school environment.
